Appointments

We are open :-

Monday to Friday 8.00am – 6pm (except for bank holidays).

Our appointment system works on the basis of one patient to one appointment. You have the option booking a face-to-face appointments or telephone appointments.

Please note: patients will need to book a face to face appointment if a medical examination of any kind is required.

You can book forward appointments, usually up to a month ahead.  However, this may differ if you insist on seeing a specific GP, or want to attend the appointment at a specific time.

The practice also offers Extended Access appointments which cover evenings and weekends.

Reception staff do not give out test results over the phone, but you may request a telephone appointment with the doctor to discuss test results.

Before you call, please consider whether your appointment is;

  • an emergency (call 999)
  • urgent (request an on-the-day appointment)
  • non-urgent (request a book ahead appointment – you can do this up to a month in advance)

Please state who you wish to see. We do respect that continuity of care can be important for you, but if you prefer to see one particular doctor we cannot guarantee that that can always be provided within a specific time frame.

Our receptionist can help you decide what sort of appointment you need.

Appointments may be booked by phone from 8.00am, you can also attend in person to make an appointment. Alternatively, please register for online access to enable you to book online appointments.  PLEASE NOTE: online booking is only available for GP appointments only - nurse appointments cannot be booked via online.  Please note all calls are recorded for training purposes.

Please arrive on time for your appointment. We recognise that the doctors do sometimes run late, as we do not know what a patient's problem is until they attend. Some problems take longer than others. You know the time of the appointment when you make it. Patients arriving late for an appointment may be asked to re-book their appointment. Please let us know in advance, preferably at least an hour, if you are unable to attend a booked appointment. This will allow us to offer the appointment to another patient.

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present during any consultation, examination or procedure. Clinicians at this practice will advise patients a chaperone is offered during any intimate examination; this is to safeguard both the clinician and you, the patient. Where a chaperone is not available, the clinician will ask you to make an appointment and request the presence of a chaperone at the time of booking.

If you are asked to come back and see either the Doctor or nurse please make this appointment BEFORE you leave the surgery. If you ring the day you need to be seen we cannot guarantee that we will have an appointment.

You can also book appointments on line. If you would like to use this option please speak to the reception staff for information about obtaining a username and password.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you repeatedly fail to attend booked appointments you will be removed from our practice list.
